INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1. All fields in the online application must be filled. The application for ACTREC JRF entrance examination deadline is 15th December 2023. Check the advertisement for eligibility criteria.
2. Do not send the hard copy of the application.
3. The candidate is responsible for the accuracy of all the information provided in the application. Filling-in any false information may result in the disqualification of the candidate at the time of admission if selected.
4. Before filling the online form, please ensure that you have the following documents ready for uploading. The size of each file and photo should be less than 500kb.
   1. A recent (less than 6 months old) color passport-size photograph with a plain background (JPEG file only)
   2. Proof of SC/ST/OBC/PH status (if applicable)
   3. Proof of valid external Fellowship - Award letter from funding agency
   4. A scanned copy of your signature (JPEG file only)
   5. A statement of purpose for pursuing Ph.D. at ACTREC (250 words)
5. The list of candidates qualifying for interview based on the ACTREC online exam results or eligible for direct interview will be displayed on our website in April, 2024. Interviews of candidates who have cleared the ACTREC entrance test as well as those eligible for direct Interviews will be conducted between May and June 2024 - the exact dates will be displayed on the ACTREC website.
6. After verifying the eligibility, ACTREC will display the shortlisted candidates for the entrance exam. Eligible candidates will receive the hall ticket by email or they can download the hall ticket using login credentials. Please print the hall ticket (PDF) and bring it with you along with a government-issued photo ID (e.g. Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving license, Voter ID, Passport, College ID) to the exam center on the day of the exam as well as interview.
7. In case, while filling the online form, if you do not wish to continue, click on Save Button at the bottom to save the filled-in information. You will receive an e-mail about User Credentials (i.e. link for setting the Password). The username will be your registered Email Id. Using Credentials, you can update or complete your Application Form later also. Click on the Update Button to update the information. Unless you click on the Submit & Print Button, your application will not get submitted to our database.
8. After Submit & Print, you will be directed to the Payment Gateway. Payment may be made by Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking. Select the Mode and make the payment. After Successful Payment, you will get an Email confirmation and Access Credentials for taking print out of the application. Application fees for Male candidate is Rs. 750/- and for Female candidate is Rs. 500/-. SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled (PH) candidates are exempted from paying the application fee as per Government rules. In case, if you miss to take the printout, after submission of application, you can take the printout later also using your access credentials. You will receive an Email confirming submission to your registered Email Id, after which you will not be able to update or modify the application.
